Best Law Firms Australia

About Best Law Firms Australia

Updated 22 September 2026

Best Law Firms Australia is an independent online guide that compares law firms across 21 practice areas in 25 Australian cities and major centres. Each list ranks firms for one practice area in one location, using public Google review data and the published criteria on our methodology page, so you can see which local firms have a strong review record before you make contact.

We also publish plain-English guides that explain common legal matters, so you know what kind of lawyer you need and what to expect. The site starts at best law firms in Australia, and every ranking follows the method set out in how we rank law firms.

What we do

We help people find and compare law firms by practice area and city. Each "Best [practice] in [city]" page lists up to 5 firms, ordered by a review-weighted Google rating. City pages bring together the practice areas available in one location, and practice pages bring together the cities for one area of law.

We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, and we do not act for anyone in a legal matter.

How we are funded

Best Law Firms Australia is an independent website. We may earn revenue from featured placements. Featured firms appear only in a block labelled "Editor's pick", shown separately from the data-ranked list, and they may include firms we work with commercially.

No firm can pay to be placed in a data-ranked list or to change its position in one. Those lists are ordered by the published criteria applied to public Google review data.

How to contact us

To ask a question, request a correction or update a listing, use the form on our Contact Us page. We aim to respond within 7 business days, and to review correction requests within 10 business days.

We can't give advice about a legal matter. If you need legal help, contact a law firm, your local legal aid commission or a community legal centre.
